2021 had a flaming start for us at Swift!
Yesterday our entire front office was destroyed by an apartment fire above our storefront. The good news is that everyone got out safely. The bad news is that, well, our whole front office is destroyed.
Fortunately, we were able to move Swiftly and get a makeshift office up and running in our lunchroom.
What this means for our customers:
The show must go on! We Swiftly set up a new makeshift storefront… so in the words of our founder Walt Sr. “Back to work!” Please enter our office two storefronts to the west versus our normal storefront.
The details: (Everyone loves a good fire story.)
Around 11 a.m. the fire department was called to the scene to put out a fire in the unit above Swift Printing, Communications, Inc’s main office.
My first thought was that it was a drill and that we didn’t know it was happening. Then the next thing I knew the ceiling just fell in.
The fire department was great to work with and kept everyone’s spirits high during the whole ordeal.
First and foremost we are so fortunate that everyone stayed safe. Because our team was able to rally together and Swiftly move the front office, there will be no delay in production.
The first floor of the building is operated by us (Swift Printing) and the upper floors are operated by Genesis and Dwelling Place. The partnership is a brainchild of long time friend Denny Sturtevant and Walt Gutowski Jr. from the ’90s.
It has always been a huge part of our mission at Swift to have deep roots in our community. The mission upstairs has been a huge success. Sure there have been challenges at times, but this is our first real crisis. As we navigate through this process I believe it will only strengthen our partnership.
