The westside community cleanup started as a grassroots effort in 2009 when a pair of westside residents got together with their neighbors!

The event has morphed into a larger effort and the most recent had over 400 participants! To regain some normalcy back into our community but still remain safe, we are spreading the event out a bit and making it more accessible to neighbors. We are focusing our cleanup efforts in multiple neighborhoods in the First Ward. For more information please check out this website.

Jessica Gutowski-Slaydon is the president and a third-generation leader of Swift Printing, a commercial printing company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She works alongside her brother, Walt, helping West Michigan businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, and organizations communicate through high-quality print, direct mail, signage, and custom marketing materials.
