The Best Art Walk to do in Grand Rapids, MI for ArtPrize 2022
2022 ArtPrize is going to be another fun one. Swift is fortunate to be an ArtPrize Venue again. I’m sure I’ve shared in prior posts, but I love Artprize. I think it’s one of the coolest things we do in Grand Rapids. Printing is obviously my passion and has become a conduit to the art world. In 2012, I planned my wedding around ArtPrize. My husband and I lived in Florida at the time and it was a great thing to do between the ceremony and reception. We took a horse and carriage all around downtown with our wedding party and saw the top 10 ArtPrize entries. I highly suggest doing this Art Walk while in Grand Rapids for ArtPrize.
What are the must sees?
Seeing the top 10 may not be feasible for you. Often times Art is all over Grand Rapids and it would take several days to see it all. This is my favorite loop. You’ll need to be able to walk 3/4 miles but I tell you this is the best way to see the most of ArtPrize in the best parts of Grand Rapids.

How do I get to wherever I want to go?
3. Park on the WestSide of Grand Rapids. Go as far west as Bridge Street Market and buy a few snacks and drinks for your journey (first hour is free parking) or park in the Red Lion Parking lot. It’s a text to pay parking lot at 412 Bridge Street. Look around you - there will be displays and artists on Bridge Street. Check out Swift Printing’s Grand Rapids. 4. Head east (toward the Grand River)
5. Head south at Ah-Nab-Awen Park. There will be a number of entries along the river and at the Ford Museum.
6. Cross the Gillette Bridge. There will be a lot of Art on the Bridge.
7. Walk inside the Devos Place. There is always a ton of art here and it’s a great way to take a break from the heat and cool down in the air conditioning.
8. Walk Up Monroe Center Hill. Lots of shops and restaurants will have art inside and outside.
9. Go inside the Amway Grand Hotel. Another escape from the heat, maybe even get a coffee at the Amway.
10. Walk to the Calder and see what’s popping there. Eat some of your snacks you purchased from Bridge Street Market. Do some stretching.
11. Walk back or grab a scooter to take to your car.
