Rockford Rotary’s Big Daddy Duck Race Makes a Splash — And We’re All In!

There are few things more delightful than watching giant decorated ducks float down the Rogue River for a good cause—and this year’s Rockford Rotary Big Daddy Duck Race is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

I’m thrilled to share that Swift Printing is a proud sponsor of the race again this year. Supporting this quirky, feel-good event means supporting the incredible work the Rockford Rotary does for our local community—from youth programs to clean water initiatives and beyond.

But what makes this year’s race extra special for me? Our duck was designed entirely by my son, Dax.

Yes, really! At just 8 years old, Dax dove headfirst into this project, dreaming up and creating his own pirate-themed duck. From the hand-drawn eye patch to the swashbuckling flair, it’s 100% his vision—and I couldn’t be prouder. He worked on it completely by himself and had a blast doing it. Watching his creativity come to life and knowing it’s part of a community fundraiser? That’s the kind of full-circle moment that makes my heart burst.

🗳️ How You Can Help (and Have Some Fun):
You can vote for your favorite duck (might I suggest the adorable pirate duck? 😉) Every email can be voted on 5 times per duck per day - now through May 24.

Voter Link Here: https://rockfordmirotary.club/vote-for-your-favorite-duck/

Every vote helps raise awareness and support for the Rockford Rotary’s mission—and it’s a fun, family-friendly way to get involved, whether you’re local or cheering from afar.

So go ahead—vote daily, share with your friends, and keep an eye out for those quackers floating down the river. Dax and I will be cheering (and maybe pirate-yelling) from the riverbank.

Thank you, Rockford Rotary, for organizing another fantastic community tradition, and thank you to all of you who support local!
