Community, Courage, and a Cause: Supporting the MS Walk on Silver Lake

At Swift Printing, community isn’t just a value—it’s part of our legacy. That’s why we were honored to support the 8th Annual MS Walk on Silver Lake, held this past Sunday, May 18. The event brought together neighbors, families, and friends to raise awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis (MS) research and support services.

Led by the incredible Sari Swets, this grassroots fundraiser has become a powerful tradition in Cannon Township. Sari—who many may know as the driving force behind the Acorn Resale Shop—not only organizes the event but also lives with MS herself. What makes her story especially inspiring is that she was a passionate supporter and walker for the cause even before her own diagnosis.

Jessica Gutowski-Slaydon and Sari Swets post the 2025 event.

This year’s walk raised nearly $17,000, thanks to the leadership of Sari and the generosity of the community. The event struck the perfect balance between a well-organized fundraiser and a warm, small-town gathering. It was a clear reminder of what’s possible when people come together with purpose.

One personal connection that made this event even more meaningful for us at Swift Printing was our colleague Cy Balk, whose mother Melissa lives with MS. It’s through connections like these that our support takes on even deeper significance. We were proud to walk alongside Cy and so many others who are impacted by this disease.

Events like the MS Walk demonstrate the true spirit of our community—resilient, generous, and hopeful. They also align with Swift’s broader mission of not only providing high-quality print solutions but using our platform to support causes that matter to our team and our neighbors.

If you missed this year’s event, it’s not too late to make an impact. Donations remain open here. And be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s walk on May 17, 2026—we’d love to see even more participation.

To everyone who walked, donated, or volunteered: thank you for being a part of something bigger than all of us. Swift Printing is proud to stand with you.
