Max Merget's Inspiring Journey 5th Battle with Brain Cancer

Watch Emily Scarlett’s interview with Max here

Max Merget is my and Walt III’s brother-in-law - our youngest sister Tori’s husband. The 27 year old four-time brain cancer survivor, is gearing up for his 5th battle with brain cancer and having a craniotomy and their family will be celebrating Christmas in the hospital.

Max's love story with Tori began in college, at Grand Valley State University. They have been happily married for more than three years. They share the joy of parenthood with their one year old daughter, Dottie, and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of another little one.

Max's medical team has been monitoring a spot, necessitating this upcoming surgery. Max remains an incredibly positive individual, living life with unwavering optimism, even amidst the constant uncertainty of cancer.

Originally not expected to live past his 4th birthday, Max continues to embrace each day as a gift. His extraordinary outlook on life has not only inspired those around him, but has also fueled his determination to share his journey with others.

In addition to chronicling his experiences in his soon to be released book, Max is the founder of the nonprofit organization "MaxYourBrain." Through this platform, he aims to support others facing similar challenges and is honing his skills as a motivational speaker.

Max is scheduled for surgery on December 22, with an expected hospital stay until December 26. The aggressive nature of the tumor removal may result in the motor cortex controlling his right side of the body including potential risk of vision impairment.

Max remains committed to sharing his story and growing his charity, "MaxYourBrain." Please consider sending good vibes, positive energy and prayers his way!
