• We meet up at 6 p.m. under the Red Lion Vintage Neon in Swift Printing Parking lot. 412 Bridge Street.
• Run/walk a fun 5k to 650 Valley Ave and back.
• Meet up for Jolly Pumpkin after the exercise.

Do you know what/where Sullivan's Field is?
Fans of Valley Field is a grassroots effort to restore and revitalize a precious gem of a baseball field, located on the WestSide of Grand Rapids, Michigan - Sullivan Field (originally named Valley Field).
Those who grew up playing on and around then Valley Field, or those who simply admire this historical neighborhood jewel, want to restore, revive and give this place a new sense of purpose through a coordinated effort between private and public partnerships.
One of the coordinators, Paul Soltysiak reached out to the WestSide Stride and asked if we'd run/walk over sometime and of course we said, YES!
This alternate run/walk takes you from Bridge Street all the way to the field (650 Valley Ave NW)- to run the bases - and back.
FAQ's
Do I have to run this route? No, you do not have to. You may run/walk a course you feel most comfortable with doing.
Does this run cost any money? No, it is free to participate. However, if you would like to make a donation for the cause there is a link on their website.
Will there be a baseball game going at the time of the event? No, there are no events scheduled other than our fun run/walk. Feel free to walk around and see all the improvements the Fans of Valley Field group has made to the field and area. Take LOTS of photos too!
Why are we doing this? The WestSide Stride is all about community. This fun alternate course and awareness run/walk helps you understand and inform others of other cool things happening in Grand Rapids, especially on the WestSide.
Where are we meeting up after the run/walk? We're going to Jolly Pumpkin on Bridge Street.
