The Donut Dash is more than a fun run. It’s a celebration of community, generosity, and showing up for one another during the heart of winter.

What Is the Donut Dash?

The Donut Dash is a community-driven run and walk held annually on Fat Tuesday, inspired by Michigan’s love for paczki, donuts, and traditions that bring people together. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, casual walker, donut enthusiast, or cheer-from-the-sidelines supporter — this event is for everyone.

Participants enjoy:

A festive, welcoming atmosphere
A winter run or walk that’s accessible and fun
Paczki (yes, real donuts 🍩)
The chance to give back locally

Why It Matters

The Donut Dash supports local efforts that strengthen public safety and community well-being. Funds raised through participation and donations help make a real, tangible impact right here at home with all proceeds supporting the GRPD’s Foundation funding things like the K9 units health care, fishing with the po-po, award banquet and gaps that the normal budget can’t cover.

This is one of those events where every registration, every sponsorship, and every donation truly matters.

Sign up to run or walk on February 17, 2026. Bring your friends, coworkers, family, or kids. Make it a team, a tradition, or your excuse to wear something festive in February.

Not a runner? No problem. Walking and cheering are just as welcome.

If you can’t attend in person, you can still make a difference. Donations of any size help support the mission behind the Donut Dash and ensure the event continues to grow year after year. We also will be selling shirts again this year. Stay turned for the new design the first of the year!
