WMSC Annual Luncheon: Mark Dantonio May 1, 2019

Monday was the annual luncheon and it certainly was an interesting one. I think it was one of those situations if Coach Dantonio didn’t acknowledge the elephant in the room he would have been criticized, but at the same time, I just crave a good motivational speech.  In my opinion, here are the take aways.

• Be an internal optimist

• Alway know the truth (Assuming he’s meaning God/Jesus)

• Stay fresh (healthy body and mind)

• If you want change you have to get involved

• Pressures of privilege – pressure really is a privilege

• The Grit = Effort X2 (The Grit is book he mentioned – I linked the one I think he’s referring to, but it looks like there are a few out there with Grit in the title.)

• Tomorrow will not be different unless you change today

• It’s the journey that makes you strong

• A man that is certain of his path pays no attention to odds against him

• Ultimately life is about being successful

If I could have asked him another question it would have been, “But how is success defined Coach?” :)
