What Pumpkin Do you like best? Swift Printing’s Annual Halloween Traditions

I love celebrating Halloween. Dressing up is one of my favorite things to do and I really enjoy the fun energy it brings. Like our website says, we’re not only the best place for printing in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but we are cool people too. However, not everyone enjoys dressing up and I’ve grown to respect that as well. 

Our office Halloween costume contest was not a hit with everyone on the team and it’s important to me that we all feel heard. As we were brainstorming ways we could all do something fun together for the season, the idea of a Pumpkin Carving Contest surfaced. Thanks to Ben for this awesome idea!

The idea checked all the boxes:

• Fun Halloween Activity. Check

• Done at your leisure. Check

• Brings everyone together in a laid back competitive way. Check

• Affordable. Check 

• Opportunity to have something fun to talk about at the office. Check

• Fun social media post. Check

We make it a public vote. The first year the one with the most comments, likes, or shares, received $20 and bragging rights as the winner. We didn’t say whose pumpkin was whose online.

Last year the pumpkins were top notch. My personal favorite was the CMYK pumpkin.

Same thing in 2021, we said vote for your favorite and the person with the most likes, comments, and shares won. However, we did say who the artists were. 

Steve Hale won again with Esteban.

Steve has brought some seriously good designs in the past two years, but will he continue to stay on top for the third year in a row? The pressure is on. Haha

We currently have no rules or themes, just that it has to be done by hand. Should we do a theme going forward? Maybe - let’s see what year three brings.
