Swift Printing’s Jes Slaydon was ArtPrize’s #1 fan or so she thought…

This year's ArtPrize was a whirlwind. It felt like it was a slow build for a year and then just like that it came and went.

It was exciting to be the Official Printer of ArtPrize. Going into ArtPrize I thought we were somewhat unique because we are a venue, we had an entry, planned a WestSide Stride course around the art, and we were a sponsor as well. Turns out there is another big fan of ArtPrize. Randy Finch, thee Ice Guru, supports ArtPrize in a similar fashion as well.

I had the opportunity to talk about our adventures with ArtPrize on the Shelley Irwin Show on September 21.

Randy’s brother actually won a top prize. How fun!

This year DGRI said there was record attendance for the two week art event, with 1,500,000 people attending. Did you make it downtown to view the art?

Our exhibit, Printing in Grand Rapids, Michigan, had a fair amount of foot traffic during the day. Our restored Old Gordon Printing press is now a permanent fixture in the front office. It is functional - which is super exciting!

Here’s a few of the entries I liked most this year.

At Swift Printing we had the honor to print the event guide for ArtPrize we also printed handouts for a number of Artists. Are you an artist that could use Swift’s Printing Services in Grand Rapids?
