StockBridge Business Association September 22 General Meeting Recap
September’s StockBridge Business Association General Meeting had so much positive energy. We had several new people present that are invested in the area. Others shared about the rich history we have on the WestSide.
Introduction: Mitch Cook, Bridge Street Market and President of SBA.
Development Updates:
Jeff Steinport and Alberto Garza shared about the new LGBQT+ bar they are opening on Bridge Street called The General Wood Shop. The SBA supports The General Wood Shop.
Fun Fact they shared: In the 1940-50’s there was a General Wood Shop in that exact location and that’s why they picked the name.
Neighborhood Updates:
Dave Ringler of Kusterer Brauhaus told us about it being Octoberfest at his establishment on Bridge Street. Ringler also provided lunch for the SBA meeting.

Ryan Waalkes of Bridge Street Ministries/Eden Café told a us how the coffee shop in BSHOP is now Eden Cafe and asked for us to support them.
Jason Spaulding of Broadleaf gave an update on his new place opening soon. (They are a B Corp just like Swift!)
Nick Adams of Drip Drop gave an update on his crafted cocktail bar prepping to open as well. He mentioned the seating is really comfortable, so I’m excited for that!
Kyle and Natashia Monk of Nonla Burger gave an update on their new burger place opening soon on Bridge Street.
Daltyn Terpstra gave the update for Heather at Harmony Hall. Harmony is moving their business and focusing on distribution. The building has already been sold. New place to open in 2023.
Stephanie Andrews, CEO & President at the GRPS Foundation, gave an update on their capital campaign. They have about 100K to go. They are doing the T-Shirt fundraiser with WMCAT.
Community & Resource Updates
Stephanie Kolakowski, GR Hub/Grow Business Today, talked about her business.
Kurt Reppart, City Commissioner, gave an update on the 1st Ward and mentioned the new soccer stadium possibly coming to town.

Swift donated a Brewery Alley Shirt to one lucky person who could answer how many places on Bridge Street can you have a drink, get coffee, eat, or buy food. How many do you think there are? Jon Meyer from the Grand Rapids Chamber guessed correctly.
