A Woman-Owned Bourbon Destination on Bridge Street
The story of One Bourbon started with four friends around a Thanksgiving table and while those friends are still friends, continues on as a majority woman-owned bar and restaurant on Grand Rapids’ westside. Inspired by the legendary blues song One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer by George Thourogood, One Bourbon is a whiskey lover’s dream curated by owners Meagan and Brett Freriks.
At One Bourbon, you’ll find often-changing menus, an expansive whiskey and bourbon collection and killer cocktail menu (they even have a “whiskey wagon” named Wilma!). Outside of a great dining experience, you can also host events and parties at One Bourbon using their second floor Oak Room with seating for up to 85, opt outside on their back patio to accommodate up to 100 guests or enjoy their seasonal greenhouse for an intimate group of up to 35 guests. The greenhouse is available from November to mid-April and yes, there are ample propane heaters!
You know we are in love with our Westside community, and we’re grateful to not only consider One Bourbon a customer but a friend, too! Meagan has served on the board of the Stockbridge Business Association in the past and contributed to many community events and initiatives. We are proud to have them as part of our local community!

New Year’s Eve on the Westside
With an everyday menu that is already stellar, can it get any better? Well, on one night a year, it does – New Year’s Eve!
“New Year’s Eve gives us a chance to do something completely different,” says Meagan. “We turn the whole place into a fancy restaurant. Linens, flowers, candles, printed menus, the whole nine yards!”
Ringing in 2024 was no different than years past. The menu pushed their team’s culinary limits and they embraced higher end ingredients like Tiger Prawns, a collection of homemade breads, fresh pasta and stuffed crab served to over 200 guests.

Swift Printing: All That The Name Implies
A night this special deserves special touches! One Bourbon, who utilizes a QR code menu during normal business operations, came to us at Swift Printing to help them print a menu fit for their high-end NYE celebration.
“The team at Swift helped to finesse the menu design, choose the best paper and style for an elevated New Year’s Eve experience for our guests,” said Meagan. “Not only do we love working with our neighbors, but their dedication to supporting fellow local businesses and their initiatives is admirable.”
The end result was a tri-fold, metallic gold ink menu that added a little bit of sparkle to their festivities. Our in-house design team helped by making final tweaks adjustments to design to make it “just-right.”
