Calling All Artists For ArtPrize 2021

Some people keep track of the year by seasons. I do it mainly by Downtown Grand Rapids Inc’s World of Winter for winter. Dairy Queen opening for spring. Oberon for summer. And naturally ArtPrize for fall.

ArtPrize is a favorite time of year for me. When it started I lived in Florida and I would come home every fall to experience it. In 2012 I got married specifically around ArtPrize and had a Bridge Street Themed Wedding. (I’ll tell you more about that later.)

Anyway, we’ve (Swift) been a venue since ArtPrize 7 and every year there is a bit of a new twist that brings new and different experiences. Last year when it was canceled due to COVID-19 it was a total bummer.

This year we are doing something a bit different as a venue and looking to partner with one artist to make a special show for them. As always, all work will be showed from the windows facing out on Bridge Street Grand Rapids with no entry to the print shop for spectators or artists outside of the set up or take down peroid.

According to DGRI, Swift Printing’s Street, Bridge Street is the highest foot traffic area in all of Downtown Grand Rapids. This is a perfect opportunity for an artist to get the exposure for their work and protect it by having it all be behind glass and viewable 24/7 from the sidewalks.

We’re looking for Artists to please just use the normal portal through Artprize.org to make requests to connect. Thank you!
