5 Ways to Reuse Yard Signs
Garage sales, graduation celebrations, political campaigns – what do these three things have in common? They are all things we often see printed on yard signs!

As a certified B Corp, we’re hyper focused on minimizing waste and when we print yard signs for our clients, we want to be sure that they get recycled or get used another way. So, we’ve rounded up five things to do with your yard signs when you’re done using them!
1. Be mindful about your message and reuse them! This is an especially great idea for political campaigns with politicians printing thousands of yard signs per year. If you skip the year (we all know the year, afterall!) and opt for your name, you can reuse signs campaign after campaign. The only trick? You’ll have to collect them – but you should be doing that anyways!
Swift Says – Another great cost and waste saving measure is to really plan out how many yard signs you need and will use for your campaign. Reduce, reuse, recycle! New people running for office often don’t realize how many they will actually need and end up coming back for more at a later, rushed time.
2. Paint over them for another purpose! You can easily turn that political yard sign into a beautiful lemonade stand advertisement or a garage sale notice.
3. Use them as a waterproof cover. Corrugated plastic is a thick, lightweight plastic that can be used as a great cover for anything you need to be waterproof (think: outdoor seat covers or five-gallon bucket cover). We’ve even seen someone use a collection of them to craft a tow-behind bicycle trailer – talk about next level DIY skills!
4. Paint over them again, but with chalkboard paint! If you have kids, these can be endless fun to create art over and over again.
5. Recycle them! According to the Kent County Department of Public Works, corrugated plastic signs are recyclable in single-stream recycling or curbside bins. The metal prongs are also recyclable as scrap metal, but need to be separated from the corrugated plastic sign.
