There’s a new press in town…and she is a beauty.

We are thrilled to announce our new printing press, Anna, a Heidelburg Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor 2.

All About Anna, The New Press

Name: Anna, the Anicolor Press

(Paper) Weight: Up to 32 point

Anna has been a great addition to our Swift family. She is the first of her kind in the Greater Grand Rapids area and has brought great joy to our print shop. She brings all the qualities of true offset printing & sets up like that of a digital press.

She has so many features that easily make her our favorite family member.

Wicked Fast Color Match

Oh better say, swiftly, if you know what I mean. We’re talking 15-20 sheets vs. 300-500 on a traditional offset press. Because of her quick color match it saves time, which saves paper, which saves a natural resource, which ends up saving the world! (OK, maybe a little stretched there, but you get the idea.) You can see how this new press goes right in line with our B Corp mission.  Her emissions are also all set to the European standards.

Sheet Size

Her sheet size is 23″X29.5″ Whoa, do you realize how big that is? OK, how can you apply it to your office, if your not into printing giant posters. Think of it like this. If your newsletter is 11×17 we can print three up or if it’s 8.5 X 11 and we can print six up. Therefore reducing time, getting your job done more swiftly, saving on production time, and saving you more money.

Quality

True OffSet quality. There is nothing quite as beautiful as offset printing.

 Swift Dry Time 

Extremely fast dry time for an offset press. One of the few negatives to an offset press is you have to set it and wait for it to dry.  Our Anna has a coater that helps the ink dry swiftly and protects the ink on the sheet too.

Swift Set Up

There is a fraction of the time for set up. Traditional offset presses have something called ink keys that can require a lot of tinkering. On Anna, all ink percentages are set in prepress. Hello, giant time saver.

Speed

This gal can do 15,000 sheets per hour.

Versatility 

Unlike Derek Zoolander, Anna has so many different looks and capabilities. She can print on 20# all the way to 32 point. From standard copy paper all the way to a coaster thickness. (Did I mention we can now do coasters efficiently with competitive pricing?:) )

Short Runs

Traditional offset presses would not be great for shorter runs because of everything I’ve mentioned above, (set up, color matching, ink keys, etc.) But not Anna, she loves change and with her plates going on and off automatically. She can change swiftly and handle both short and long runs.
